Devotchka
I went with friends to see Devotchka at Spiegel Tent in NYC. I did not read the train schedule correctly and we missed the last train out of penn station. There is very little open or to do around Penn station at 3 am, but I still had lots of fun.
D day
Today was the last day of the capital hill block party. It was a kick ass 2 day event mostly filled with bands I have never heard before. The very best part was that Devotchka was the closing act on the last day. This was the 3rd time I have seen them this year. Once in seattle showbox sodo and once in philly at the tla (?maybe the tla. I never remember the name of the place.). The show was good but the stage setup was rushed. The sound did not sound correct at first. After a few songs it seemed to be corrected or I stopped caring. Also there were a few moments of feedback. Grr feedback.. It was wonderful to see Devotchka but seeing all the hipsters and yuppies there kinda made me sad. I guess this kind of thing will happen.
